"Barks and Recreation has been an amazing place for Maxwell. I feel the staff’s true passion is working and playing with all dogs."

Barks and Recreation has been an amazing place for Maxwell (Golden Retriever). He gets so excited when we are on our way there. He has made many human and dog friends. Barks and Recreation has provided Max the opportunity to socialize with other dogs and people — he is always worn out when we bring him home. The staff is very loving to the animals. As Max’s mom I feel the staff’s true passion is working and playing with all dogs. We are very grateful that Barks and Recreation exists so that Max has a wonderful place to play and stay when we are away from home. I highly recommend Barks and Recreation.

Welcome to Barks & Recreation! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your pups when you can’t be with them.

As mentioned on throughout the website, we do not have breed restriction at Barks & Recreation — all dogs are welcome. So to ensure that your pups will enjoy our daycare and boarding environment and have safe interactions with humans and other dogs, we’ve developed an on-boarding checklist for all of our new customers which includes:

  • All new customers must complete the Barks & Recreation New Pup Assessment
    • Includes an on-site assessment as well as a few forms that must be filled out in advance
  • All pups must be up-to-date on Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, and Influenza vaccinations
    • This requires written confirmation from a veterinarian
  • All pups must be spayed/neutered (unless under the age of 9 months)

The first step is the New Pup Assessment — this is really just an opportunity for us to get to know your pups and to make sure that they will be safe and fit in with the rest of their furry friends at Barks & Recreation. The on-site assessment will take approximately 5-6 hours — we ask that all dogs stay a minimum of 4 hours so they have a chance to “warm up” and so we have enough time to get to know them and their temperament / personality. Given the time commitment, we do require an appointment for the assessments so we can ensure we have dedicated staff available. We make appointments Monday through Saturday in the mornings. There is also a cost of $20 for the assessment — this $20 is then applied to your 1st Daycare or Boarding appointment. Please fill out the form on this page and we’ll get back to you right away to confirm your appointment.

In addition to the on-site assessment, you will also need to complete a few additional forms:

If you have any questions about the process or anything at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll get back to you straight away.

Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your pups and earn your trust and your business. We look forward to meeting you and your furry kids.
